The design for this exhibition of Donald Judd’s furniture showcased the pieces as functional, warm and liveable objects by layering on textiles and accessories, sculptural cactus and aloe plants. The cuboid, modular shapes were contrasted by a dramatic rhythmic tree silhouette by still life photographer Tessa Traeger, highlighting the relationship between the furniture and nature. The creaking sound of exhibition visitors walking on reclaimed wooden floorboards added to the atmosphere.
